PowerON’s newest tactile finger tips featured in German TV
It is alive! Meet our new fingertips. Two weeks ago, a film team from MDR MITTELDEUTSCHER RUNDFUNK visited us to shoot a short documentary about us and our newest generation of tactile fingertips for industrial robotics. Over the last weeks and months, our engineers have been eagerly working on the next step toward our product release. Since we trust in our engineers’ work, we invited the MDR MITTELDEUTSCHER RUNDFUNK to shoot some footage for their afternoon news show “MDR um 4”, when tested our brand-new tactile fingertips with a standard industrial gripper, by Weiss Robotics GmbH & Co. KG and a Universal Robots UR5 robot arm for the first time. The tactilely sensitive gripper was able to feel soft and brittle things like tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs, and onions. Turns out: we are half the way to a pizza, and everything was successfully gripped, detected, handled, and safely released.
